Setting goals and working hard towards a dream is challenging, however, Kevin truly believes all dreams are obtainable with dedication, determination, and a little bit of support.

It was Nancy Hart, Kevin’s mother, that raised him as a single parent. She most certainly influenced the work ethic he is known for today. A computer analyst at the University of Pennsylvania, Nancy told her sons to set goals and achieve them…and she lived out her maxim. “She was forever in school,” Kevin remembers. “She was always trying to achieve a new level within her education — a new master’s or other degree. She was constantly pushing to be the best version of herself.”

Through the Help From the Hart Charity Scholarship Program, Kevin is helping youth and young adults from around the country “to be the best version of themselves.”

A good education can be achieved in many ways. Whether it’s a 2-year or 4-year college or university program, trade school or a vocational training & certificate program, all of these education platforms are excellent ways to help youth find their way to being the best version of themselves.

According to CleanEdison’s 2018 report, ‘The Need for Vocational Education – growing demand for skills-based credentials,’ 33% of the American workforce requires a 4-year degree and 57% of the workforce requires a technical skill.

This and other research regarding the future of education in America is the primary reason why the Help From the Hart Scholarship Program focuses on providing financial support to high school graduates from underserved communities that are seeking higher education opportunities. In addition to a traditional college or university education, we are excited to provide funding for those seeking to learn a technical or trade skill through vocational training or trade school options too.
